The Big Show Update Part 2 (5/24-5/30)

Some former Tigers have a little bit of work before getting their first cup of coffee in the majors

Donaldson, coming off the DL, has continued to rake for AA Midland. Over his last 10 games he’s hitting .450 with 2 HR and 12 RBIs. For the year he’s hitting .296 and has 36 RBIs. So he’s just now heating up.

Butts has been pretty much spot on for AA Mississippi. Over his last ten games he has allowed just a single ER for a stellar .073 ERA out of the bullpen. Over that time he’s pitched 12.1 innings and struck out 11. On the season he’s 3-0 with a 2.52 ERA.
BRETT BUTTS AA Mississippi (Braves)

Dixon, formerly with the Lexington Legends, is now in the Rookie Gulf Coast League and man is he struggling. He’s hitting .058 in his last 10 games and just .134 on the year. Also over those last 10 games? 17 Strikeouts and only 2 hits.
RUSSELL DIXON Rookie A GCL (Astros)

Woodall has struggled in his stint with the South Bend Silverhawks. In relief he’s 1-3 with a 6.52 ERA. That picture to the left? That’s Woodall and current MLBer Colby Rasmus after winning the 1999 Little League World Series (American Side). Good times B-Wood. Good times.

Hall just got the call and has made his debut in AAA after a brief stop in Montgomery (AA). He’s mainly being used in mop up duty, but still AAA is AAA and he’s getting a better paycheck. He’s only made 4 appearances for Durham and is batting .250. His stop over in Montgomery was pretty interesting. He only made a single appearances (for a pinch hit AB) and struck out. That’s been it for his AA career.
MATT HALL AAA Durham (Tampa Bay)

The Nooch has been on fire for AA Hickory. Over his last 10 games: .368 AVG and 2 HRs. For the season? .333 and 7 HRs. He’s been quite popular among the Ranger Blogs. Wondering “Just who is Mike Bianucci”? and earning the nickname “Monster Mike” after his 6 for 6 performance on April 16th. On that 6 for 6 night he had 2 HRs (including a Grand Slam) and 7 RBIs.
