Regional Radar (April 15)

With some success, comes some hope: Here's what some college baseball writers think of Auburn's Chances of making it to the NCAA Baseball Tourney:

SITE PREDICTION Previously Change
Rivals (SEBaseball.com) 2 Seed (Atlanta) 2 Seed (Tallahassee) Holding
College Baseball Blog 2 Seed
(Charlottesville)
2 Seed
(Miami)
Holding

Ugh. Great. Auburn is having one of the best seasons in recent memories and we get rewarded by facing either the ACC's #1 or #2 team. Bravo.

TOURNAMENT RESUME   CHANGE
RECORD 23-11
Boyd RPI 20 +2
Nolan RPI 19 +1
Boyd ISR (Strength Ratings) 27 +3
Nolan NPI (Power Index) 28 -8
KEY WINS Bama, LSU, USA
KEY LOSSES SEMO (2/19), Missouri (2/27)
BOYD'S Strength of Schedule 21
Warren Nolan Strength of Schedule 15
RECORD v RPI 1-50 6-8
RECORD v RPI 51-100 6-1
RECORD v RPI 101-200 9-2
RECORD v RPI 201+ 5-0

FINAL PREDICTION: The RPI actually took a bit of a hit this past week thanks to Boston College and Florida Atlantic both dropping out of the RPI top 50. FAU fell to 57, while BC is at 66. Without any other RPI boosters (besides a rematch with South Alabama), it will be up to Auburn to take care of business in the SEC in order to change that record against the RPI Top 50 with the remaining schedule: Vanderbilt (14), Arkansas (2), Ole Miss (44), Kentucky (29), and Mississippi State (32) all in the RPI Top Tier. Only Tennessee is ranked below 50 at 66.
