You would think with such an unusual last name that Dan Glevenyak would be an easy google search away from information. That's not really the case. There's an incomplete NJCAA Profile on him showing how he hit .322 as a Freshman with PBSCC (with 10 doubles/31 Runs/18 RBI). Played 2B/SS for Team Mid-America in the Blue-Grey Battle of the States. Batted mostly in the leadoff position in High School at RPBHS. Other than that, all I could find was a press release on him being named All-Conference.
Here's the good news for "Yak". He slots in one of the more open positions on the Auburn Roster: Second Base. Right now, 2B looks to be an open battle between Yak, Tanner Cimo, and Kent Rollins. I know in my original predictions had Zach Alvord at 2B. However, I can't really see any other justification for that prediction. So, I'm changing course and moving Alvord to SS and keeping 2B wide open.
So what do we know (or can assume) about "King Yak"? Probably that he's a middle infielder with limited power, but consistent speed and hitting ability. His real key (and probably his best chance to crack the Auburn lineup consistently) will be his defense. A 2011 Team Defensive Player of the Year for PBSCC, a solid and error-free anchor in the infield would be a great addition
